$25.

When we lived in Missouri 20 years ago there would be at least one auction every week end. It was our entertainment and how we furnished our house. Yesterday we went to an auction. It's been years since we spent a day looking at other people's stuff.
I found a couple of treasures in a pile I bought for a dollar. I also found an enamelware canister set that came from a doctor's office, back in the day.
The weather was perfect...never hot and we came home satisfied and full after spending $34.16 tax included. The all out prize for the day was this camper trailer we bought for $25. It's small but perfect for two whose kids have grown and left. There's a fair amount of work to be done inside but we look forward to making it the way we want it. Can't wait to power wash the paint off and go back to aluminum.
Fun day...great purchase.

Driving Force

I read a blog this morning that made me sit and think. The topic was, "What are the small things that keep you close to Jesus?"
My thoughts immediately said,"anything that keeps you close to the Lord is NO small thing."
There was a period of time when I just didn't read my Bible every morning. I was in an ugly place and it had been a hard year. While I still desired to be used in ministry I knew I wasn't hearing anything. Why? Mostly,I couldn't hear because I wasn't listening. God never ceases to speak. The problem is our listening skills, our lack of going to seek His voice in the Scripture.
He wants to talk to us. He wants to share His heart.
So those small things that drive you to him are no small things at all. They are gifts, reminders, gentle nudges.
